I woke up this morning & told Jason “I really don’t want to go to this MS event today.” I mean, who really wants to think about, learn about, be vulnerable about being chronically ill? Frankly, it sucks & I’d prefer to not think about it. But there is this desire in me to be real & seek other’s stories to make sense of my own. I know there is much to be learned and that life is best lived in connection, vulnerability, & community (even when it is hard) & I’m so grateful we went today to the Can Do MS event in Chicago today. This is a real crappy reason to all be bonded together but I can say these ladies (& a room full of MS Warriors not pictured) are dear to me after today & as Brene Brown says “the 2 most powerful words when we’re in a struggle are “me too.”
