field trip

A few weeks back Anni’s school had a field trip to a beach for games, cooling off, a picnic, and general merriment and frolicking. I snuck over to see how it was going around lunchtime (and secretly to make sure she was doing ok) but I was spotted and soon the screams of galloping watoto came down the beach “Mama Annikah! Mama Annikah” I heard about the games, heat, food sharing under the shade of the palm trees, the shell that cut the teacher’s foot, the rolling in the sand, and then managed to snap a few pictures. My little girl has really made her way and has so many friends here despite culture differences. And it makes this Mama so happy.
