My poor little baby is sick. She had a cough that has gotten worse over the last 2 days so yesterday I took her in to the pediatrician. Turns out she has croup (which I had no idea what that meant but is apparently a collection of symptoms that stink) and an ear infection. Her cough sounds like a dog barking and is so sad! She wants so much to be happy. Case in point: she was crying this morning after coughing but then caught a glimpse of the cat walking thru the kitchen and stopped mid-cry to clap her little hands. Precious.

how sad, and how sweet!! funny how often both feelings come at once, eh? my only association with “the croup” is that it’s what always happened to the children Anne of Green Gables babysat. I would say it’s very sort of romantic to get such a victorian illness…but it probably doesn’t feel very literary to ya’ll! :)Get well, anni-girl! We are thinking of you!

That is where I remeber it from- I said that it sounded like something one gets from living in tenements…..or Green Gables :)- thanks for solving the mystery

Yikes. I actually had croup as a baby too. I even ended up in the hospital for 2 nights.Hopefully she’ll mend much more efficiently.

Ouch and Ouch!! And so sweet about the kitty-You can knock a girl down, but you can’t take away her inner shine! I’ll be praying for a speedy recovery for your little Monkey Joy and for a roomful of healthy babies at next week’s playgroup!
