Celebrating the 4th lake house style

We spent the 4th of July enjoying my parent’s lake house with dear friends (and some of their friends).  We wanted to share some of American culture and how we roll on July 4th and it was THE BEST watching them experience some of the lake house fun for the first time.  And at the lake we  take our summer livin’ seriously people. So obviously bomb pops were a necessity. As were sparklers, a golf cart parade, fireworks, boating, tubing, jet skiing, swimming, and lots of eating. As usual my camera was an extra appendage for me the whole weekend but it is because I just cannot resist the opportunity to tell the story of memories being made and families sharing life.

And can I just say this pink tutu clad girlie and her pink barbie fishing pole caught 7 fish!!! Seriously we were all shocked!! “Evy caught another one!!” was our favorite phrase that morning





And Anni finally caught one too…a good life lesson….sometimes you have to wait a long time! And our family friend Chris was cheering her on the whole time. We have good people.

And my parents were awesome as they traded their normal quiet for a house full of folks but the legacy of their home is hospitality, rest, and family and for that I am grateful because they work so hard and share so freely with us! And we can also share that blessing with friends. And my brother and his girlfriend Mel took us out of the boat a zillion times- thanks!! Thanks Bibi & Babu!
