We had a blast exploring Charlotte for the kids spring break this week. Definitely a new year without our oldest but we had a blast exploring, spent a ton of time outside, learned local history, ate amazing food, hiked in God’s beautiful creation, got to see family, and rode EVERY coaster at a new amusement park.

Highly recommend these places in Charlotte:

Levine Museum of the New South– small museum with interesting bits of Charlotte specific history. We had a quiz after for candy prizes and discussed Black history in the area

Eat at Optimist Hall– Seriously this place is awesome- so many choices- we went back twice and the kids loved it! India Steet food was my favorite

Innovation Barn– very cool place with a great coffee shop Change Please where 100% profits go to fight homelessness- (the Innovation barn collaborative that leads Charlotte’s progress as a global Smart City through innovations that strengthen economic competitiveness, environmental sustainability and positive community impacts.)

Hiked Crowders Mountain Pinnacle Trail- beautiful 5 mile-ish hike that include some rocky parts at the top but beautiful views- bring a lunch to enjoy at the top

Explored Camp North End– such a cool place and loved the thrift store Thrift Pony I found Iridescent doc martens in my size!

Ended the trip with going hard at Carowinds– really nice and clean amusement park- one of the coasters takes you from North Carolina to South Carolina and back again (they also offer a pass for MS (and similar conditions) that allowed me to not wait in the lines- so appreciated! you have to apply 3 days before going and need a doctor’s note- shout out to Evangeline for doing the research! Ask me anything and I can tell you more)

This was a great trip exploring our new state! More videos and what we did in Instagram stories.

Have you been to Charlotte? What are your favorites? What should we add to our list next time? Tell me in the comments!

Inspired by the original.
