For years our family has welcomed those new to the U.S. through World Relief and now we have another opportunity through World Relief Durham.
Eating amazing food and watching our kids laugh and play together last night reminded me of the importance of community when everything around you is new and hard. By welcoming others, we always discover a beautiful truth: that we are the ones who are truly changed and blessed.
Sharing food and parts of our stories reminds us that creating friendships with new neighbors is what we called to and the kind hospitality of our new friends is truly a gift.
Let’s continue to welcome and love and stand together because when we welcome, we are changed in the process.
