something crazy happened…when we went to Africa four years ago people continued living their lives here. They had babies, moved away, changed jobs, and they experienced joy and pain and life. Just like we did. Truthfully, we lost touch with some people but there are those folks that reached out and we pulled in. We needed that “being known” thing and so did they. We refused to let time and space and time zones to cramp our style. Those people that may never have set foot on our island but prayed intensely for it and for us and that faithful prayer changed things. We stood in prayer with them and our families are connected in deep ways that make my heart full and my cheeks hurt from smiling. We visited one of these fams’ this past weekend in their relatively new (to us) home far away from the city we knew them in years ago. It is so clear God is using them in powerful ways there and we were blessed to share time, meals, laughs, prayers, toys, and some tears with them. Our kids ran and played and frolicked while we did things like eat Lebanese food and not shower or actually get dressed until noon. That is my definition of a great weekend. They were outrageously hospitable and we are so grateful God has seen fit for our lives to continue to intersect. Thanks Kim and crew!
