We are missing us some fall right about now. Colorful and crunchy leaves, pumpkin spice anything, sweatshirts, apple picking, costumes. Ah, we miss you fall (now winter is an entirely different story but fall…..oh dear fall). So instead of lamenting the rising temps on our island everyday and lack of all things resembling fall we decided to have us a shindig. Our inspiration was a package sent from Bibi Rho including candy corn (holla!), real leaves from Iowa (we sniffed those for a good 5 minutes), and a mermaid sticker book for one little girl who was a mermaid (seriously Bibi that was amazing and necessitated a call because Miss Anni did not believe that we had not told her secret costume idea. Nope, Bibi is just that good)! The funnest part was painting shells with the kids in the neighborhood for Anni’s costume and sewing some spots on an old T-shirt for Miss Evy to to be a “dudu” (bug) at her request (ok, she pretty much just loves the word dudu). Yep, we had ourselves a fall party complete with costumes, bobbing for apples, making caramel apples, “trick or treating” (if you count knocking on every door in the house trick or treating :), and lots-o-fall-ish games. Woohoo! What made it special was that we were joined by some friends.
mermaid diva
the mask lasted about 30 seconds but she makes a pretty sweet lady bug
best group shot we could manage before inevitable costume removal
I love your mermaid costume, Annikah!! And I had NO CLUE you were going to be a mermaid, but saw the cute mermaid book and thought of you!! How fun is that!!! Thanks so much for the phone call – it was SO FUN to hear your sweet voice!!! The fall party looks like it was a blast. Who were the cute guests???
oops! I just posted a comment from Annie's computer (I'm here babysitting the girls today) and I think I signed on as Annie. Let me try this again (hope you figured out the previous comment was from Bibi Rho!) I guess I'll choose “anonymous” but it's really ME!!!
I do that too as signed in as J- no worries š Our guests are a family that lives here with 3 boys- the dad in Tanzanian and the Mama is from Texas š
I forgot to mention how adorable little Evy-bug is in her costume! Too bad she couldn't have gotten together with cousins Claire and Emma who also were ladybugs!
